This course will start with a teaching part to be done online in which the student will be taught through a deep and exhaustive tour, but starting from scratch, all the most important concepts of echocardiography in dogs and cats. For this, numerous videos, photos and practical cases will be used to help illustrate and establish the concepts. A week later, in which the student will have had time to settle the knowledge, se will go on to the practical training part in which the student will perform echocardiography for a full day, with live patients, in very small groups and with constant, close and direct supervision of the trainer, which will allow the student to progress very quickly.
in which the student will perform echocardiography for a full day. During the two weeks before the course in which the student will perform echocardiography for a full day, within the general theme of the course, which the specialist will answer during the course of the talks.
The course offers four weeks of initial settling of concepts (ASIC weeks) after the course, in which direct contact is offered free of charge through a WhatsApp platform with the specialist, to answer questions about the course.
For those with no prior knowledge of echocardiography:
The student will acquire a solid foundation in echocardiography, which will allow him or her to confidently start performing echocardiographic studies: how to start the study (probe, position), the reliable measurement of the cardiac chambers and their meaning, the correct evaluation (when and where) the size of the left atrium, understand Doppler, assess systolic function with confidence, know how to identify the most common diseases.
For those veterinarians already with basic knowledge:
Prior knowledge will be improved, polished and strengthened and, as the groups are small, those aspects to be improved will be individually focused on. In particular, the exhaustive evaluation of systolic and diastolic function, the Doppler technique, the findings in less common diseases will be explored, and the teaching of a systematic approach that allows reaching logical answers in more unusual cases will be emphasized.
LEVEL
Initiation-Medium
ADDRESSED TO
General veterinarians, regardless of their experience who want to start in echocardiography.
Veterinarians, with already an interest in cardiology and some knowledge in echocardiography and want to consolidate these and progress under the tutelage of a specialist.
Veterinarians who spend most of their time in other disciplines that often overlap with cardiology such as internal medicine, emergency and intensive care and want to start or consolidate their knowledge in echocardiography.
